French literary circle – Michel Butor: La modification

The novel, awarded with the prestigious Renaudot award, presents the inner dialogue of a man who travels by train from Paris to Rome where he is supposed to meet his mistress. Its peculiarity is that Butor used the second-person narration for his story; he directly refers to his protagonist.
