Coordination of International Activities
About the Center

At the Center for International Cooperation, we coordinate the international activities of the Ljubljana City Library. In addition to implementing Erasmus+ accreditation in the field of adult education, we also coordinate other activities within the Erasmus+ program. We participate in several international projects and coordinate memberships in professional bodies, awards, competitions, as well as attendances at conferences and professional meetings. We organize visits for professional colleagues from abroad, including job shadowing, study internships, and professional visits aimed at employees in libraries and other related institutions as well as students.

Our active strengthening of the role in the international arena is reflected in numerous efforts. We have a national representative in the presidency of the NAPLE Forum, and we are members of the executive boards of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) sections for environment, sustainability and libraries (ENSULIB), libraries for children and young adults (C&YA), metropolitan libraries (METLIB), public libraries (PUBLIB) and management & marketing (M&M). We cooperate with IBBY through the Slovenian IBBY section and professionally connect with many libraries and cultural institutions abroad.

Projects

Collaborations

In developing innovative services, we cooperate with leading international professional organizations such as IFLA, NAPLE Forum, and Public Libraries 2030. We support the activities of the Dublin Literary Award, IBBY Awards, ICORN, Goethe-Institut Slovenia, and Window of Shanghai. We share our extensive experience from all phases of project work with other Slovenian and foreign libraries through training, consultations, presentations, and professional publications.
