Blue Sisters

Coco Mellors rose to fame with her debut novel Cleopatra and Frankenstein. Her second novel focuses on the relationships between four sisters, Avery, Bonnie, Nicky, and Lucky. Due to their father’s alcohol problems and their small apartment, they felt confined during their childhood. They soon scattered around the world and began living as independent adults. At least, that is how it seems at first. Each of them faces their own problems and searches for meaning. In addition to their memories, they also share the loss of one of their sisters, which has alienated them even further. Through the chapters, we follow their struggles with life a year after Nicky’s death. Will the sisterly bond be stronger than what is (un)spoken? (EZ)
