Dancing in the dark

Karl Ove finishes high school and gets employed as a teacher at some elementary school in the north of Norway; he is eighteen years old, independent, and aware of the boundless freedom, given to him. The narration about the events during his teaching gradually changes to description of his life when he was sixteen, when his parents had already been divorced and he lived alone with his mother, but had varied contacts with his father and other relatives. The dynamics of narration remains intensive in the fourth book of the saga My Struggle, the book is nondeferrable, the reader continues to be happy, sad, ashamed with Karl Ove, and asks questions with him, listens to music, reads books, observes, is witty and cannot help himself not to see the parallels with his own life at sixteen, seventeen, eighteen.
