Two ambitious young soccer players and inseparable friends find themselves in court. Fame and money did not bring happiness to one of them, the 22-year-old Evan. As a child, he followed his father’s dreams and thus denied his own ambitions to become a painter. Because his father disapproved of his “effeminate” personality and his friend did not return his feelings, he fled his hometown in shame. The whirlwind of the London metropolis sucked him into a world where he could survive by selling his own body. He gets involved with various men, which brings him income but also emptiness and boredom. He soon meets a fellow player with whom he is supposed to commit a crime. The court will decide on their guilt. Evan’s life is turbulent and full of unbridled emotions. So is this short psychological novel. (EZ)
