The film One Life is the true story of Sir Nicholas “Nicky” Winton, a young London stockbroker who, together with Trevor Chadwick and Doreen Warriner from the British Refugee Committee in Czechoslovakia, in the months before the outbreak of World War II, had saved 669 children from the Nazis. Nicky visited Prague in December 1938 and discovered that families who had fled Nazi Germany and Austria were living in desperate conditions, with virtually no food or shelter, and were threatened by Nazi invasion. He immediately realized that it was a race against time. How many children will he and his colleagues be able to rescue before the borders close?
