The Book of Poems

The Slovanska Library collects many originals of the great European authors. Heinrich Heine (1797-1856) is one of the last great poets of European Romanticism. The book of poems (1827) is an example of Heine’s lyrical poetry – he originates from the younger school of German Romantics, who based on folk songs and emotional-mood lyricism. The lyrics of Heine’s poems can be found in many solo songs, especially by romantic composers – Schubert, Schumann, Wolf etc. (KKH)
