The God of the Woods

During summer camp, 13-year-old Barbara Van Laar, the daughter of a wealthy family that owns the camp, disappears. Her older brother Bear disappeared in a similar way more than ten years ago. Investigator Judyta and her team head to the huge camp property, where tensions and rumours are running high. The well-oiled machine of the summer camps financed by the Van Laar family is not as innocent as it seems. It seems that the unpredictable and dark forest is no more dangerous than the people around us. The novel The God of the Woods earned the author the New York Times Award for Best Crime Novel. The intricate story with compelling characters and an unexpected ending takes us into a suffocating whirlpool of interpersonal relationships. (EZ)
