Would you like to practise a foreign language, connect with others, and explore literature – all at once?
Our foreign language reading clubs provide a welcoming environment for both language learners and native speakers.
We currently offer reading clubs in English, German, French, Spanish, and Romanian. Meetings take place regularly from October to May, and participation is free of charge.

English Reading Debate Club
Last Friday of the month in Oton Župančič Public Library at 5:00 PM, 3rd floor
Discussions for all those interested in English-language fiction. Each meeting revolves around a selected book that participants read in advance, providing a foundation for themes and questions raised by the work. The meetings are designed to explore literary texts and practise English, with discussions held exclusively in English. Participants take turns leading individual sessions by prior agreement.

German Reading Circle for Adults
Second Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM
A reading group where participants read articles on various topics in German. It is intended for anyone who wishes to improve their reading skills in German languaage and already has some prior knowledge of the language. For more information, please contact polje@mklj.si.
Romanian reading group
The Romanian reading group brings together Romanian speakers and literature enthusiasts. During the meetings, participants speak in Romanian and discuss books that have resonated with them – works by Romanian authors or foreign authors translated into Romanian. French Literary Circle
Third Monday of the month at 5:30 PM
A French-language group where participants focus on renowned French and Francophone authors. The meeting is facilitated by Leila Filipič.
Literary Meetings in Spanish
Tuesday, once a month at 6:00 PM
A Spanish-language group where participants read works by contemporary female authors from the Spanish-speaking world.
The meetings are facilitated by Katarina Kajić and Eva Podobnik.
