The Cycle of Czech and Slovak film: Jára Cimrman: Lying, Sleeping

The biography of a fictitious Czech genius and inventor Jára Cimrman takes us to a Czech village of Liptákov. While visiting the memorial room of Cimrman there, we recollect in “reconstructed” episodes the story of his life and work. Directed by Ladislav Smoljak, 81 minutes. Initial presentation of the film: Bojana Maltarić.

The film belongs among the most popular mystifications in the Czech Republic and is based on specific Czech humour and self-irony, as Jára Cimrman has even won the poll for the greatest Czech of the year 2005.
