Reservation and ordering

RESERVATION OF LIBRARY MATERIAL

Material that is available for borrowing or is currently already borrowed by another member may be reserved:

  • electronically online – through COBISS, mCOBIS
  • in person at one of our libraries
  • by phone

You can reserve up to five units of material at a time. We will notify you by email, SMS, or phone when your reserved material is ready.

You can pick up the material within two working days of receiving the notification. Failure to collect reserved material will incur charges according to the MKL service price list.

COLLECTING RESERVATIONS AT THE LIBRARY

Once prepared, the reserved material can be found on shelves near the checkout machine, where you can pick it up and borrow it yourself. The material is arranged according to the first two letters of your surname, the first letter of your name, and your membership number.

Prepared material must be collected within two days of receiving the notification. Failure to collect reserved material will incur charges according to the MKL service price list. Prepared reserved material can only be borrowed with a valid membership card.

COLLECTING RESERVATIONS FROM THE 24/7 LOCKER

Reserved material can be ordered and collected from a locker at your convenience.

When reserving material in COBISS or mCOBIS, select the pickup location as “Paketnik” (locker). When the material is ready, you will receive an SMS notification and a digital audio code for opening the locker door on your mobile phone number – recorded in COBISS.

Lockers are currently available at following locations: in front of the Oton Župančič Library (Gosposvetska), at the entrance to the Šiška Library, Jože Mazovec Library, Prežihov Voranc Library, and Jurija Vege Library in Dol pri Ljubljani. In the Bežigrad Library, the locker is in the vestibule; you can open the entrance doors when the library is closed with your Urbana card.

The material will be available in the locker for 72 hours (three days) from when you receive the SMS notification. Failure to collect reserved material will incur charges according to the MKL service price list.

ORDERING MATERIALS FROM OTHER LIBRARIES IN THE MKL NETWORK

You can order material from another library within the MKL library network, and we will deliver it to your chosen MKL library for a fee. In the COBISS+ catalog, such a reservation is indicated by an icon with a car and the cost in parentheses. When making the reservation, you select the library where you will collect the material. You may select from available pickup locations where we provide the delivery of the selected title.

We will notify you by email, SMS, or phone when the ordered material arrives at your chosen library. You can pick up the material within two working days of receiving the notification. Failure to collect the material will incur charges according to the MKL service price list.
