The alchemyst

Nicholas Flamel, the famous 14th century alchemist, is still alive, having invented the elixir of life, the secret of which is hidden in the book of the mage Abraham. In the wrong hands, it could mean the end of the world, which is what John Dee, who steals the book, wants. The prophecy says that the world we live in will be saved by twins.
