Wool

In the near future, people live in a huge underground silo. Normal life on earth has become impossible due to its saturation with deadly particles. The silo is controlled with strict rules and social order, and the daily life of the inhabitants is characterised by a constant journey up the stairs that connect the different floors of the silo. Any violation of the rules or talk of life above ground leads to a purge. The majority of the inhabitants have resignated to their fate, but Sheriff Juliette begins to suspect that there is much more to the outside world than what Bernard, the silo manager, has revealed to them. With the help of a young man, Lukas, she soon discovers that their silo is not the only one. The dystopian trilogy is completed by the novels Shift and Dust. (EZ)
