Polish film: The Issa Valley

The film is based on the novel by the Nobel Prize winner Czeslaw Milosz. It takes us back to the childhood of a young boy, Tomasz, growing up in a remote Lithuanian village. We can experience a world that is awe-inspiring in its beauty, but also in the ruthlessness of nature. A world where the living and the dead roam, where Christian beliefs are intertwined with paganism.

Directed by Tadeusz Konwicki, 110 minutes, 1982. Introductory presentation of the film by Lidija Rezoničnik.
