Nominations for the Dublin Literary Award

For all literary connoisseurs, the shortlist for the Dublin Literary Award has been announced. Each year, nominees for the award are nominated by public libraries from around the world and sponsored by Dublin City Council.

We invite you to take a literary journey through the shortlist of nominees. The titles, which can be borrowed from our libraries, are provided with links:

  • Sebastian Barry: Old God’s Time (Ireland). Nominated by the Stadtbücherei Frankfurt, Germany.
  • Mircea Cărtărescu: Solenoid (Romania). Nominated by the “Octavian Goga” Cluj County Library, Romania.
  • Emma Donoghue: Haven (Ireland/Canada). Nominated by Toronto Public Library, Canada.
  • Jonathan Escoffery: If I Survive You (USA). Nominated by the Jamaican Library Service, Jamaica.
  • Suzette Mayr: The Sleeping Car Porter (Canada). Nominated by Vancouver Public Library, Canada.
  • Alexis Wright: Praiseworthy (Australia). Nominated by the National Library of Australia, Australia.

We look forward to the announcement of the winner, which will take place on 23 May 2024 during the Dublin International Literature Festival.
