Description
As a partner we cooperate in the G-BOOK 2 project, which is co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union. The project aims to promote gender positive children’s literature in terms of roles and models, a literature that is open-minded, plural, varied, free from stereotypes, that encourages respect and diversity. It attempts to achieve this goal by preparing bibliography at the European level which will be accessible on the project’s web site even after it has ended. Participating libraries will enrich their youth collections with additional copies of books, recommended in the international bibliography. The partners will connect with local schools, carry out workshops on the project’s topic, workshops of creative writing with guest writers and visual artists and as a closure they will carry out a creative writing contest. The winning stories from all partner states are going to be translated to all partner languages and published in a publication and on line. Beside the Ljubljana City Library five partners from five European states cooperate in the project: Italy, Spain, France, Ireland and Bulgaria. The project is being coordinated by the LCL, Pionirska – Centre for Youth Literature and Librarianship.
